In March 2015 The Seafoodbar opened a second, larger location at the Spui in Amsterdam. Owner Fons de Visscher decided to branch out after the success of the first restaurant in the Amsterdam Van Baerlestraat. The size of the new restaurant was one of the reasons to contract interior design agency ESTIDA in order to execute the renovation.

Owner Fons de Visscher came up with the original fish restaurant concept. The Seafoodbar offers fresh, 100% sustainable seafood in a casual dining setting. The interior is characterised by white lamps, white tiling, non-plastered walls, steel frames, the use of wood and stainless steel coolers which are also distinctive features of the new and larger branch in the Amsterdam city centre. ESTIDA was hired not only because of the size of the project but also because of their experience and expertise in carrying out hospitality concepts.

The use of the existing space was optimised by dividing the different levels of the room into segments. The Oysterbar is located on street level upon entering the building, the second level hosts the bar, level number 3 offers the Seafoodbar and the restaurant is situated on the top level. This smart arrangement offers a view of the fresh seafood and an intimate setting in the restaurant. Also, a glass roof was created in the ceiling which is consistent with the interiors transparent look and feel. This natural source of light complements the freshness of the concept and its styling. Another unique feature is the innovative Cool-Spot technology used in the coolers. It provides the seafood with the perfect temperature and humidity and it increases the quality and lifespan of the fresh products.
